I’m Sicily Townley, a photographer from Madison Heights, Michigan.
I have always had an unstoppable need to create. Whether through photography, illustration, or other media, making art is how I process the world, how I hold onto what might otherwise slip away. Photography, in particular, has become my way of preserving moments and places that might otherwise be forgotten.
Growing up in the Midwest shaped my perspective in ways I’m still uncovering. The muted landscapes, quiet neighborhoods, and in-between spaces of my upbringing have influenced the way I see and frame the world. I am drawn to spaces that feel both familiar and distant, to objects left behind, and to the traces people leave in their absence.
I explore texture, natural light, and the fleeting nature of memory, using photography to suspend a moment just before it disappears.
I’m currently based in Savannah, Georgia, where I continue to develop my practice.
